Want More Power

I've had my '05 MR for almost 5 years now and after the first time I drove it I knew I wanted @ least 400whp.... Since I've had it I have done numerous mods, spent what seems like a lot of money, but not really... Considering the amount of time that has passed.... So my point is that I *think* I am at the point where I am ready to really add some numbers to my wheels... It is NOT a daily driver @ this point either, which makes me want to push it a little more.....
@ last tune I pulled 335whp and 301wtq @ Turbo Trix
Here are my current mods...
3" TBE no cat
5" AEM Short Ram
Hallman MBC
Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
Perrin Upper IC Pipe
DC Sports Exhaust Manifold
*Thats all, they called it a freak @ TT, but thats a good thing...!

To support more power I also added
ACT HD Clutch
Fidanza flywheel
Rotara Slotted Rotors w/ hawk pads
Strut bars front and rear, Trunk bar, and the 5 point bar to clear the 3" downpipe
new plugs & thicker wires
Swift springs
18x9 255's for more grip, ( & more weight =(, but o well )

Since my last dyno I threw in a Perrin Intercooler....
I am also going to be changing to that Ingen kit w/ the intake, upper IC pipe, and lower IC pipes.... (Since the 5"aem shorty rubs the shi* out of my hood....and I want lower IC pipes)

This is a street car only, one day it may get some track time, but thats not its main use...... Aggressive Street
So, my path from here (in my mind) would be to finish off the fuel system, (rail, injectors), do some work to the head (cams, springs, retainers, cam gears) , new throttle body, *maybe* new intake maniold, and then of course a bigger turbo....
In your opinions is this the right direction?
I know cams are important, but when the head is off, would it be wise to have more work done? (Pistons, porting) My goal now seems like 450whp..... I think that would make me a happy man.... But i want it to be strong, supported.... Not some flimsy shi*..... ya know what I mean?
Any advice / info would be very much appreicated...
Thanks guys... I love

upgrade the turbo, 1000cc injectors, E85 and you'll get near 400whp for sure. I was at 373whp on my old 8 MR and I still wanted more power.

400 is not too hard to get to. You have good mods; just go with a good turbo and tune and you will pass that.

With a new intake manifold and turbo, as well as the supporting mods you already have, you will easily have your 400hp after a good tune!

I read somewhere the internal diameter of the injen UICP is less than the stock UICP... I would go with ETS piping and IC- have it, love it, top notch everything for our money- also just port the stock intake and exhaust mani and do a Milspec 65mm throttle body, e-85 or meth setup on either an FP turbo (if you can stand the wait) or my personal favorite CBRD BBK (they are soon releasing a bigger version that will compete with the FP red). Pair that with Cosworth/Kelford 272 cams, and yes upgrade the valvesprings/retainers whle the head is off and bolt that head back on with ARP head bolts. That combo will give you well over 400 whp on a dynojet with a regular BBK turbo/meth with stock spool and much higher (450+) with the FP red if you don't wind more lag... I got 385whp on a super low reading mustang at 4200 ft elevation where stock evos make 210whp on my BBK/91 octane + meth at 28.5 psi for reference, which if you do the math that is 460-475 crank hp... tuned at sea level on 93 +meth it would probably be about 425-450whp on a dynojet

If you want to keep it at a reasonable power range...I would personally recommend throwing some decent cams and either going with a 9 turbo, or a green. The green is nice because it is a great small turbo, and if your smart and tune it properly, it does not require an engine build like a big turbo, or even a red would. Another thing I'd advise, has already been mentioned. Get a set of 1,000cc injectors, (and a tune) and start pumping some gold ole corn fuel.

Another recommendation that is nice, but not necessarily needed, is a full set of I/C pipes, i used the Injen kit. Wonderful kit. Oh, and definitely get some T-Bolt clamps or you'll be putting your pipes back together on the side of the interstate.

A lot of people are quick to bash E85, however for myself on a stock motor with only I/C pipes, injectors, boost controller, and a tune. I hit 365whp @ 32psi. Of course this was in Colorado, so be weary of your sea level. Don't want you blowing your motor trying to run insane boost numbers.

you really should search

spend some time in the dyno and tuning results section and see what works for others

my honest opinion

bbk full or htagreen and cams

or just cams and meth should get you pretty close

Who doesn't want more power? A bigger turbo never hurts
