being that it's a roof rack and gets beaten up pretty bad if used, is it well constructed to avoid scratching or permanent marks on the roof if taken off and being put back on often?

Been to Brian Head two years in a row. Place is great, snow is ridiculous and the drive is really easy. The nightlife is pretty boring in BH tho.

Dirt and grim get under the rubber pads so make sure to clean them every time take them off and put them back on. Am pretty sure they vibrate a little not much but any will causes damage at high speeds, A little vibrate plus dirt and grim causes scratches my opinion that's why i use a strip of 3m tape low adhesive on all four corners "Just My Opinion", But that what happens when u go really fast, but that's "My Opinion" from using them for awhile but there the only one ill ever buy or use there the best "My Opinion"

Will do. I lost a lock so I need to go pick up some new ones and some 3M tape before I install it.

anyone use these for bikes? Trying to find a way to put two up top. On this point I envy the subie crowd - factory made plug and play rack designed for the the car.
