I had the HKS on for a while and a few things I noticed was part throttle boost the HKS would pull then I would get a violent bucking. I would go with APS twin vent. IMHO the bost stock style bov you can run. Ask Mellon he is runniing it to 40psi holds boost just fine. I'm going to be changing my setup and be running meth with 30-35psi and I know I will have no isses with the APS....
45psi so far

There was a video with this dv posted on youtube, but I can't source it at the moment...the metal dv is not sequential, just one recirculating blow-thru; more audible with an open intake though. function over design aspect is a no brainer, espescially if you are currently running strictly VTA.

I tried running it recirc and it would still happen. When I upgraded to the red I just installed APS

Yeah I had the same POS. Don't get me wrong the HKS is a great BOV cause it won't leak but for the EVO on stock ECU no bueno Oh and BTW sound means nothing. If you make 5 psi and shift and hear flutter=fail. If you notice you gas mileage goes down=fail. I'm making more power now and I switched BOV's and I'm getting close to 28mpg's now. I was getting 18 before.

Bucking

I had the same issue with the car bucking hard at full throttle when it was cold out. If I stepped on the gas gradually, it wouldn't do it. That's when I had the HKS BOV venting into the atmosphere with the stock up pipe. Then I recirculated it and didn't have the issues anymore.

After doing a boost leak test, I heard the BOV leaking. I returned to the stock Evo 9 BOV and haven't had any issues since. I run 25 psi daily now and haven't had any issues. I miss the sweet sound of the HKS venting, but am happy with the reliability of the stock 9 one.

Does the recirculate pipe bolts right on the hole where the hks bov hole is opening? Or is there a clamp that im suppose to use?

you need the recirc. kit with a nipple that slides behind the bullet shaped cover of the bov...i think it comes with necessary tubing also?
