Question Is it bad

Is it bad to just dump the clutch when using the 2 step or should you let the clutch out slower?

Never dump the clutch or you'll grenade your transfer case. Either slip the clutch or dump when you're at the contact point (when clutch and flywheel have engaged.

yes dumping the clutch is very bad. My bro's 03 evo didn't have 2step but he did dump the clutch a lot and that broke his transfer case

I agree with the majority here.

Or you could do it the fun way...... repeatedly stab at the clutch pedal when you are bouncing off the 2 step until you run first gear out!!!

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
There is a thread on launching in the Driving Techniques section. I suggest reading it.
