WTF is my car doing

Ok backstory:
Car has 24000 miles and never had a hard life..and hasnt been really been modified or raced until the wreck which was 3 weeks ago when I Hit a deer and mechanically messed the intercooler and upper intercooler piping.

So i upgraded to AMS upper piping, ETS lower piping, and Buschur Intercooler.

Now the AMS upper was flanged for a tial so i used a tial that i already had. No spring change just regular 50mm tial BOV vented to the atmosphere. I know it was gloing to run a little different especially at idle.

1st problem is that if i lay into 5th gear for a good second and let out i get a CEL...check it at autoparts store and its

P0121
TPS/Pedal Position Sensor A CKT Range/Perf

cleared it to see if would happen again...i drive regular for a while and try to see if it would do it again and yes again it comes on. same thing same code.
Then again today i was 90miles from home on the interstate and tried again bc it had stayed off for 2 days and it came on again....ok TPS code..got home checked it and this time

P0172 Too Rich Bank 1 was added to the tps code.

Was it thrown too bc of the amount of time driven on the tps code?

And for the last few days if im crusing and take it out of gear and let the RPMS drop it will drop straight to around 500 and the oil light will flicker...but as soon as the rpms go back up to round 900 and stay it will go off and stay off. Every gear does it and it always drops down and flickers it and goes to normal and idles fine.

Sometimes it will putter a little bit and drop in rpms and almost seems like its begging and pleading it to brighten the oil light. OIL IS Full and freshly changed.

Is this all BOV related?
Its the only thing ive changed that could hasve affected this stuff.?

Please help im trying to get this thing back minty

All I can say is in my time on these forums many of these strange engine issues come down to someone using a non-recirc BOV. If you have a 9 it was made with the stock ecu to run recirculating when you change it you mess up the MAF calculations the computer has to do to make the a/f and timing correct.

its a stock 8

i knew it wouldnt run perfect with the tial but i know you can get near perfect with a black spring from tial.

but the oil light is really the only thing that scares me.

I can understand the idle problem but oil light? the motor is still mint and hasnt even been abused yet and the oil is still up at normal level.

Yeah, I have the same problem with my 9. Not only am I getting the P0121 code but I'm also getting another code for my MAP/BARO. My TPS sensor is fine and I got the code right after I installed that TIAL BOV, which I love, but this problem is really starting to get on my nerves. I'm still trying to find a solution for this problem. I'll let you know if I find one.

The idle and the oil light flickering at near dying out rpm is normal for VTO without proper tune. Get it tuned and see if that solves your problems.

Since you only have a intercooler and piping, I think you should stick with the IX DV.

And you should get a tune.

Diverter Valve.

Read this:

http://www.evogarage.net/wiki/index.....28DC.2FBOV.29

Do yourself a favor; kill the ricer within you now. Evo's do not respond well to BOVs. Especially if they vent 100% atmospherically. The stock IX diverter valve (aka JDM MR diverter valve) is a very capable and inexpensive solution. The IX diverter is metal and can handle 25 psi without any issue. You will experience very limited, if any drive ability issues. Partial throttle situations will be manageable and not violent.

* If you have an VIII, do yourself a favor and get a IX diverter valve.
* Don't be a ricer, unless you have an aftermarket ecu then stick with a recirculated diverter.
* Aftermarket diverters tend to have partial throttle issues and will never be as daily driving friendly as the stock IX diverter.

all I have for mods is an intake and every once and a while the idle will drop too low and I get the oil light flicker, I also need a tune!!

Diverter(bypass) valve & blow off valve are diff because a BOV vents to atmosphere and a DV recirculates back into the intake.

I threw the tps code when one of my couplers blew off and I had to limp it into a nursing home PKL that was an intresting day lol

Had a hks on my Vii, recirc'd. And i eventually took it off because part throttle, it would flutter, and i honestly started to just worry it was actually surging. Looking back, i'm sure it was just the valve fluttering, but it just scared the hell out of me, and i went to the jdm IX. No problems.
