Should I Wait On Install?
Should I Wait On Install?
I currently have a Turbo Timer and Intake. Ordered Boost Controller and 3" Turbo back exhaust. I heard the turbo back can raise boost a few psi. Should I wait to install the exhaust and boost controller until I also have an AFC or will it be safe to drive without one? If I up the boost will that lean the fuel ratio out without haveing to use an AFC? At least for the time being until I get one? Just don't want to install until I'm sure it's safe for the car. Thanks.
The big advantage of the AFC is leaning out the top end of the fuel curve. Adding the intake, and turbo back exhaust should not cause a problem on the stock boost level, but I would hold off on taking boost above 20 psi until you can do some dyno tuning with a wide band O2 sensor.

actually the correct answer would be: Higher octane is more resistant to combustion (ie higher number more energy needed to combust) This is why a low octane "knocks" it combusts before the ignition fires the cylinder and what you hear is actually missfiring among other things depending on where the car "knocks" at. Running too high of an octane causes another problem as well, if you over do your octane number the fuel will not combust as it is suppose to throwing the whole cycle out of sync causing you to loose HP. You will want to run the correct octane for your setup and the only way to do so is by trial and error (tuning).
