EVO Options

Ok, after looking at EVO's at two different dealers and pricing one online I have a few questions.

1.) What does the "Low-profile" gt wing look like? Heck all I have seen have been the "large" carbon fiber ones.

2.) Does a strut brace come on the EVO from the factory? I checked out one over the weekend with a 2000 dollar sport package that included a new shifter knob, a strut brace, and something else. I thought it came with a brace on the front from the factory.

3.) Leather wrapped parking brake? According to one sticker it was standard, what does the option for one have?

4.) Have there been many problems with backing their 7 year anti-corrosion warranty?

anything else i'll probably add after someone responds to this, thanks in advance,

mike

It's not against the law, but it is outragous and there is no reason why you should pay that much.

A dealership here in town did a similar thing, while they weren't marking up the car, there were over 1000 dollars worth of accessories added to the car. 399 for the shift knob, 399 for the racing pedals, and 399 for the e-brake handle. Totally bogus.

The dealership will try to squeeze every last drop from you that they can. There are plenty of EVOs sitting right now, you look hard enough and you will find the one you want for a reasonable price.

I think he was being facetious.

If you think that's too high, you ought to see the cost sheet on that stuff. It really is just super expensive.

What are you smoking?

From mitsubishiparts.com:

Shift Knob: 81.00
E-brake Handle: 161.00
Pedal Kit: 55.00

Lets see, thats $297.00 worth of parts and what, $900 worth of labor to put them on? Get real.

FYI, they sell that front strut brace for $303.

I was just curious if anyone else had seen that. Does anyone know where I can find a pic of an EVO with the small wing or with no wing? I've looked on the board and found several threads but none of the pics show up. Hmmm.... I found an EVO with CF wing, and sunroof for 29.9k. Damn I wish this was either may or june....

I wasn't trying to justify the highway robbery in the initial post, but was just trying to say the stuff is pretty high. I got all that stuff (except the ebrake handle) for less with name brands like Sparco, GReddy, and Stillen for my car. To some people, those might be more attractive options then dealer installed stuff. Once the car has been out longer and more brands start offering product for it, the dealer stuff may no longer be attractive at all.

Sorry I didn't make that clearer.

OK, I understand now.

Your point makes perfect sense to me -- I too prefer aftermarket accessories to the usual dealer stuff.
