My wounded Evo
My poor Evo got hit a few weeks ago. I was driving home from work in the middle lane, traffic ahead was stopped, so I stopped. The person behind me in a Saturn decided to merge into the lane to our right since it was moving and obviously miscalculated, instead merging into the backend of my Evo. Thankfully, the other driver has insurance and it is being "repaired" by a body shop. Her insurance is also covering my aftermarket exhaust, so I bought a Buschur cat back as a replacement for my Works axle back. For now, I am driving a rental Dodge Dakota truck.. which does not compare to my Evo in any way. Every day I drive this slow, heavy and generally unresponsive truck reminds me how much more fun my Evo is (make that was) to drive.
At first, the other drivers insurance company was going to put USED LANCER PARTS on my 3 or 4 month old Evo. After putting up a fight and threatening to make a claim against my insurance, they relented and now I am getting new parts from the dealership where I bought my car. After the car is returned to me, I plan on getting it recertified by a local Mitsubishi dealership.

If you look closely, you can see where my Works Exhale was bent in. Not a pretty sight. Not like the other pics are very pretty either.. the last pic is kinda crappy, but my P800's camera is not exactly top end.

sorry about that accident man.. My evo was hit in july and it ****ed up the whole rear drive side door. I just got into a fight with a curb after avoiding a falling branch and my whole underpiece where the intercooler is fell off and the lower part of the bumper.
Slapped the lower part on and im keeping the undercover off better airflow

The body shop I am going to scared me a few times..
They kept on calling my a car and Lancer and kept on telling me that my car was FWD, not AWD. This is why they were going to put on used Lancer parts - they had no idea just what the difference is between an Evo and a Lancer.

be careful about insurance. Let me tell you from experience. I had a claim against another person's car who hit my TT with his suburban. Traveller's insurence was representing him, and they initially quoted me a repair price of $5,600 even though the suburban had run over the front end of my car. It ende up being colse to $15,000. Make sure everything is the way you want it, and don't take refurbished parts if you can help it. Also, they will try to replace any of the body panels with aftermarket sheaper units. Don't take them either. Just some friendly words of advise. Good luck.
