Busted out rear window

Ok I am going to whine for a little bit, but this story has a good ending. Having the FLU sucks, and it sucks even worse when your in a war zone, and then it sucks even worse when you call your wife back home and find out the back window on your Evo got busted out.

So the good part of the story. My Lab decided he was going to knock my gate down, and in the process the gate falls on my rear window and busts it out. So my wife knowing how much I love my car calls the cops and post housing.

She calls post housing and they give her some grief, so she says I have a police report ( the cop owned an evo and was like ohhh $h1t let me know what I can do to help) and proceeds to give post housing a lashing. So housing pays for my brand new rear window and has it installed with no cost to me!

Thank you post housing!

Good for you, but the cop has an Evo, and you openly admit that your dog broke it and your wife fraudulently called the cops and had post housing take care of it, as if another person did it? Not too smart, suppose that cop is on this website dude?

Nothing was fraudulent. The Police report was done for insurance purposes. The gate was faulty and that is why post housing paid for it. I guess I should have explained more.

Oh alright, I thought you were insinuating that you guys made the police think that someone vandalized it. Good **** though, glad they took care of you.

Sometimes post housing can be a real pain, and some times police can be irritating, but on this day everything worked out, and I thank both of them!

Wellat least everything worked out for you and you got a new window. Could have been paying for the window yourself.

Good thing this gate just busted the window and didn't end up denting your trunk or anything more serious.

??? Why should this be the responsibility of anybody but you / your family (and yes your insurance company) ????

Your dog knocks down a gate which in turn brakes your window....Seems pretty straight forward to me....The gate was faulty ??/ - please you stated that your lab was determined to knock down the gate...

Heh you have better luck with the MP's than I do. A week ago they were going to tow my EVO because there was no plate on it. Only thing that stopped it was the guy on extra duty telling me there were a bunch of MP's around my car.

For everyone not in the military saying it was his fault: Maintenance of housing is not the responsibility of whoever lives there. Post housing is responsible for pretty much everything except cleaning.

How is maintenance related to a determined dog breaking a fence ? I can understand how maintenance would be required post the incident, but stating the fence was at fault because the dog broke it and thus caused damaged to the car is 100% ridiculous....

Done.

Housing is at fault because it is their job to ensure everything within the home is in good working order. It is like renting a house and plumbing breaks due to neglect on the landlord's part; it is the landlord's responsibility to rectify the situation.

On-post housing is like renting without paying rent (I know about BAH, etc...) Anyhow, congrats on having housing pay for your stuff, but you know as well as I do nothing would have happened without some form of outside intervention, damn civilians , it's like it is their money.

Done.
If the fence and gate were erected properly then no lab mastiff or any other dog should be able to knock it over. That situation occurred because of either poor construction, poor maintenance or both.
