no real point in going from evo 8 to 9. as stated now that you put in cams the mivec is no advantage. both cars are the same minus tht mivec and interior upgrades lights too but you can buy all those and convert your evo 8 to as they say a 8.5. Adding more money to your loan is completely stupid at any level. a evo is a evo man. you owe 11k who is to say you sell yours and attempt to get a evo 9 and cant get approved for a loan for one or say you finally get one in your price range and its ragged out. then your spending more money with a unknown car fixing issues. keep what you have you know whats wrong with it and a few mods and it will feel completely different doesnt hurt to update the exterior and interior as well

Keep it and mod. Everyone has pointed out the main reasons already, but you know the history of this car. That alone would make me hold on to it.

i say mod it, 55 is nothing to worry about, esp since it seems like you take great care of your cars. however the evo 9s are like a million times better than those piles of garbage they call an evo 8, so i could always just do you a favor and buy it off of you for 11k lol jk

113k and going strong!! Many of those miles are on the track (road racing) at full tilt, 30psi... Mod it and keep it for a long time.

Excellent advise so far guys. I agree with you who say the performance is not a huge gain 8 to 9, the main reason I want a IX is just for the lower miles and newer. A friend of mine in the area is looking to sell his mint 17k mile SE. I've been drooling over his car for the past 2 years lol. I think the car has been lauched a whole 15 times in it's life, it's the color I've always wanted, flawless inside and out. Perfectly maintained.. and so on.

Either way I may go to the bank just to see what it would look like on paper before I even post anything FS or make a decision. I've got all winter to really figure it out.

Keep it and pay off. I would try get out from debt first. You have low milies compare to other 03's, I don't see any point of sell it and move to 06.
