The insurance company ended up totaling the Evo, but they gave me pretty damn good money for it (more than I could have sold it for). I did not buy it back because they wanted too much for the salvage value to make it worthwhile (for me) to part out.

Anyway, I used the money to buy a 2010 GG GSR w/SSS.

Oh, and my beautiful little girl was born yesterday!!!

I'd buy it back regardless, and if its worth restoring, do it, then sell it and make lots of $$$. Sometimes, accidents, can be a blessing. I've talked with people who have totalled, bought it back for 2-5k, put 2-5k into it, and sold it for 5-8k over total cost spent. Add that with the insurance payout, it could be worht it.

The cost to repair the car was $19k, not worth repairing considering they gave $27.1K for the loss. They wanted $6,500 to buy the car back; it just was not worth it on my end. It sucks because I put a lot of money in mods / install / tune into the car, but oh well.

It was said earlier in this thread... it is only a car. A piece of metal can always be replaced, and the lives inside it are way more important. The car did it's job by protecting your family, and for that I would be grateful. Whatever happens, good luck with it, glad everyone is okay.

Good luck with your next project

yeah it's a real shame the IX was just coming into it's own with the FP Red tune and bam this happens. I'm sure you're missing the power quite a bit, but how are you liking the X otherwise?

It's different, a little bit disappointing to be honest. However, I did not buy the car to keep it stock, so it is only a matter of time. The forced hiatus from modding is giving me a chance to really do my research and see what is needed for the X and what is not.

Cruise and a decent stereo are really nice though!!! The IX was starting to get a little annoying as a DD, so I want to make sure I have my new mods exactly the way I want to drive every single day (with a little auto-x thrown in). The upgraded turbo for the X is the big thing I am researching now, I needs mo' powah!!!.
