Shifting problem

If i go WOT in 1st gear, it has a problem going into 2nd and samething for 3rd most-times, Its a 6speed evo IX. If i shift slower it will go in, but once I go full WOT and try to shift, there is like a itch in the gearstick. Wat can be done to eliminate that?

are you making sure youre not trying to move it too far to the right rather than just straight down?

Check your fluids and if its the same tranny as the MR it is something it does. The synchros are horrible in those trannys. I know cause I had an MR.

Commen with anything but a stock clutch. My dad bought a stock (except for clutch apparently) Evo VIII WITH a warrenty. Had trouble getting into gears from neutral when a red lights and such. I told him it's probably a problem with the clutch. I pulled the TOB access plug, saw a red pressure plate. Took it to the dealer and they put in a stock clutch... problem fixed.

My Evo at times has a hard time accessing 2nd gear at WOT, but it's totally fine any other time.

Do you have a 6sp? Cause when driven hard the MR tranny doesn't even go into gear.

Worn synchros, worn hub/slider, poor fluid quality, dragging clutch or poor shift technique are a few causes just off the top of my head. My 6sp shifts perfect every time up to 8k rpm.

I had some improvement with Castrol Syntorque LT, someone one here sells it, I will have to check. I was not happy with Amsoil in my 6 speed.

Exedy 4puck, spring clutch, Act flywheel, OEM TOB. AMSOIL fluid, its more like when WOT the linkage feels like it moves making it difficult go be drawn into gear, shifting slow helps. But need to shift faster for drag purposes. The 6speed from the MR i heard is different. They apparently have two 6speed tranny in Japan. One for the IX GSR and one for the MR.

Even though I love Amsoil and sell it, I'd switch to OEM 75w85 or try the Mopar synthetic (Castrol LT) 75w85 - the stuff the Eric@MilSpec pitches.
