Orbital Kits

I was under the impression that the company that made the Orbital Double DIN kits went bankrupt or closed down, but some of my friends have been telling me that they went back into production?

So my question here is:

1) Are they being produced currently?

2) And if they are, where can I get one?

Go to here and order the double din kit (180-042-001) = 41USD + s/h.

orbital kits are no longer produced

the japanparts link will solve your upper double din needs but you'll have to make a custom climate control solution for the lower cubby

Alright, thanks. Kind of sucks that they stop producing them. I heard they were some A+ quality items.

Yes and no. More than a couple people said that the way the pieces fit into the dashboard wasn't always as neat as it should have been. A couple people even had cracked units.

Either way, it was still a pretty cool idea that had the attention of the Evo community at the time. I don't really blame the guy who made them, since it's not like he just had truck loads of money to invest and had to look at things in terms of how to at the very least recoup his investment, but he just wanted to sell the remaining units he had made (which would help him break even and get rid of any excess inventory) and not go on an additional production run since he felt that it would be another big investment that he wasn't prepared to do again.

What I didn't like was that the last few batches were in the flat black color rather than the shade that matched the interior pieces of the IX interior. I would have bought it if he didn't limit the last few batches to black.
