Searched, but found nothing on this. Just seeing what the options are out there. I love the idea of the Weather Tech mats, but unfortunately, they do not have the direct fit for our cars, and I don't feel like spending the $100 on their universal mats. Plus they are ugly, and so are the mats that I have seen at autozone and pep boys. Anyone have any decent looking, sturdy rubber floor mats? Post them up! Thanks.

Note that these rubber mats will say Lancer on them opposed to Evolution as Mitsubishi never made them for our cars per say.

There should be a support group for Evo owners that deny that they own a Lancer. A very special, but still, a Lancer.

I'm just chiming in to say that I bought the OEM all-weather floormats and they are fantastic. The thickness takes a little bit to get used to as it changes the area of your foot that has contact with your pedals.

The only thing I was worrying about is if they turn to plastic in very cold temperatures and they've held up just fine in 0F and remain flexible. Meltwater from your shoes pools in them nicely, keeping it off your carpet. I haven't had any spills yet. Just watch that your pantleg doesn't soak in the pool. That's gotten me a few times.

My only gripe is that the hook to keep them in place also makes it tough to simply remove the mats to drain them, so you're stuck using some towels to soak it up if you can't wait for them to dry. If they're full, you obviously don't want to go thrashing about in your car and have the water slosh out.

Those lancer all weather matts don't look like they'd hold much water.

I got the walmart specials for my toyota and they hold about a half gallon of water. Pretty heavy and they don't scoot around on the floor. I'd recommend em. Lots of colors and under $20.

 

I had the OEM Mitsu Lancer rubber mats when I lived in Minnesota and they were great. They held plenty of water/slush and did their job protecting my carpet. They do say LANCER on them, but oh well, I'm not trying to pretend I have something I don't like the SRT-4 guys swearing up and down they don't drive a Neon

 

i DON'T drive a lancer! and my srt-4 was NOT a neon!!!!!! haha jk. I'd actually rather just tell people it's a lancer, or neon.

as i said before...it's not that i care that it says lancer on them...i just don't think they are very attractive...but they are made to fit the car...also i'd really like to get black...it shows less markings, and easier to clean. thanks for the help guys!

Hmm, looks good to me. The benefit of rubber mats with insets in them, is they do a great job of trapping dirt, water, mud and for you northern folk, snow.

They clean up with some mild detergent and a brush or a quick rinse with a water hose. Dry and put back in the car.

Taking my stock mats out was one of the first things I did. Carpet mats - FTL.

 

The dealer offers exact fit rubber mats which I have now for a year and they are great.About 80$

They don't hold as much water as some floormats, but will easily hold all the water you can get on the bottom of any shoe or boot (who drives boots with an Evo anyway). So far this winter all I've had was a tiny puddle at the back right corner of the mat and it's all evaporated when I go to drive it to work the next morning.
