Tear in Evo 8 Cloth seats

Hey I have the typical tear/rubbing on the edge of the drivers seat. I was wondering if anyone had ever repaired that. I noticed the cushion is worn down as well. The previous owner was a bit overweight. Could I purchase some suede/alcantara and a peice of foam? I just don't want to risk destroying the seat. I know how to sow so thats not a problem. I might just end up getting IX seats if this doesn't work. Any advice is helpful.

Get some pics up - someone may be able to help you out better with a visual on the problem. You might have some better luck finding some trusted local upholstery guys and getting some estimates from them.

I'm not from your area so I can't refer you to anyone. You can try posting up for a recommendation in your NE Regional forum.

Im not 100% sure what suede/cloth is on the bolsters of the seat...but if you dont get the correct stuff its gonna look stupid. Plus, knowing how to "sow" will not make this job any easier. Just because you took shop class in middle school doesnt mean you can sew on car seats. Its not that easy.

No attitude here man. Im just trying to help you save your seats. You take those seats apart, at that point your dead stuck. You cant sew them back together yourself, you will have to take them to a shop where someone(like me) has to sort out your problem. Trust me man, some things should be left to people who know what they are doing...and this is one of them.
