evo 8 or 9

I will hopefully be in the market for an evo soon. I have a vortech 350z now and want to sell it or trade it. I want to keep my payments as low as possible but want a decent evo. I was told that cams will add a lot more to an 8 then a 9. Is the price between the worth it?

The 9 is the better package if youre going to do moderate mods... The 8s are better if youre going ***** to the wall since most of the older parts are going to be replaced anyhow..

Just to answer your cam question.. The 9's are as responsive to camshafts because the factory cams are a couple steps ahead of the oem cams installed in the 8's.

Either way you'll be happy, just keep reading on here and things will start to click. If you have any more questions please feel free to shoot me a PM or email.

Cheers!

I want to use the car as a daily driver and occasional drag and some road racing.

If you can afford a good condition Evo 9 then go for that... Otherwise youre better off getting a car year or two older thats not beaten up....

These cars can handle a pretty high amount of abuse so don't worry too much about how it was driven; be more concerned about how it was cared for.

Cheers!
