Is your car already OEM HID? If so then yes, just buy new bulbs (type D2S) and replace them. I got a pair of them on ebay also. Like everyone else says, get 6000k. I had 8k before and 6k sees way better at night.

I love how so many people see a big number and think its all that matters. Its universal too:
  • Being 4th in the Big East Basketball is likely better than first in the MEAC.
  • 100 watt no-name stereo will sound worse than a and hign end 50watt.
  • A 3ghz processor computer could be slower than a 2ghz.
  • 2.0L 4 cylinder engine can be faster than a big V8.
Exactly. Just because it's the same kelvin doesn't mean it's the same lumens

I wouldn't get anything over 8k. 8k is already, wtf!?!?!
6k will be perfect for you! OR if you have the funds, get TSX OR S2k Projectors and use the 6k, that will be a balling and nice *** output for headlights on your car.

hey man thanks for the pm explaining all that. i gonna go with some 6ks

4500-5000 is the best range. Even 6000 is too high IMO

I have a 10000k set of bi-xenon and also a 10000k set for my fog on my car and let me say that it is crap. I bought the car with thoses aftermarkets kits already on and when I will get my return taxe, I will throw away thoses bulbs to get 4300k or maybe 6000k. I cant put my headlights on highbeam because I actually see nothing. Always running on low beam with fogs on

the problem isn't the color so much as the light output/range. they might look good standing outside of the car, but from the driver's seat you can't see **** in front of you.

you guys arre crazy... mine came factory with HID's and i swapped my bulbs (ds2's) to the 10,000k and they are fetching bright!.... people flash me all the time till i flash them back... if it is just the 10,000k swap with the balllasts and all yes they suck but if you have the factory hids and the hid adjustment for lower or higher damn they go far.... i never use my brights even in the middle of nowhere... MR's come with the adjustments so it depends?

Also it is personal preference... if you drive on a busy street at night you could drive with your lights off and hardly notice but if you live in the middle of nowhere then you might want like a 6k! i love my 10,000k... i wouldnt change them!

I find it funny that you're saying 10,000K bulbs are bright; it's a fact that at 10,000K light output is so much less than OEM 4,100K or 4,300K.

A 10,000K bulb running either on an OEM ballast or aftermarket ballast wouldn't generate any additional light output.

People are probably flashing you because you've aimed your headlights too high or the purple/blueish haze from your 10,000K bulbs are blinding them.

just like i said... it is someones own opinion i have seen mine from about a 1/2 mile down the road and they are definitly blue and they are bright! they are brighter than the factory 4300-4600 that are OEM! but again it is someones own opinion!

Also the OP asked if he only needed the bulbs not what everyone thought about then 10,000k so to the OP... if you have stock HID's then all you need is the Ds2 bulbs yes but if they are not HID's then you need the full kit and ballasts as well!

Yeah don't go with 10,000K you won't be able to see anything at night. Trust me, I learned the hard way.
