car wont start...fuel pump?

I just returned home from a weekend in Minnesota to find that my car will not start. The first time I attempted to crank it over, it caught for about a second then died. I have checked the fuses, none blown. Also, the battery is fine from what I can tell (have no means to check it here), all lights, radio, windows, locks, etc. are in working order. Car has about 1/4 tank of fuel. All it seems to want to do it crank crank crank...nothing is catching. I am still running a stock pump, and with the amount of miles on the car (114,xxx), I do need one - just dont have the money to buy parts that aren't needed at this time.

Car background -
TBE, MBC, lower motor mount -- only mods that I have that have anything to do with engine / turbo etc...
Stock ECU

I have had to deal with some electrical issues generating from some corrosion on some of the wiring harness plugs in the driver kick panel. All of the connections have been cut and soldered back together - this took place about a month ago. I have had no issues with the car (except for a blaring horn - fuse is pulled)

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

can anyone post up a diagram / picture or whatever of the location of the crank angle sensor...I know where it should be, but since I have to do this in my street in front of the house, I'd like to know EXACTLY where / what I am going for before getting into it...IF it comes to that lol

also, what all goes into changing one of these...?

Pretty sure it is the sensor on the top front right of the valve over. Cant really miss it. The plug faces the front of the car. Not hard to change.

First, that is the cam sensor.....

Second, why do you feel it is the crank sensor? the crank sensor is located behind the harmonic balancer.

do you have spark? do you have injector pulse? hows your compression?
Start with the basics!
