Exterior vs more HP?
Exterior vs more HP?
I have $1,500 to blow on my IX and I'm driving myself nuts on what my next mods should be. I'm trying to decide between the ETS stock turbo manifold + 02 housing and a re-tune or a set of rota DPT wheels
. I already have most the bolt ons and making 300+whp on 91 but you can never have enough power right? On the other hand I have ZERO exterior mods done and think those dpt's whould look great. What would you guys do considering the above??

well you need to ask yourself do you like racing more then you care about how good your car looks lol. for my car the outside is compleatly stock except for the jdm rear but then under the hood is where all the money is spent, i LOVE racing
if you have 1500 bucks.... you can easily get rims for around a grand. maybe even under if you are really lucky. then maybe you could throw a little more money in and get the other stuff! :-D
In my opinion building a car is all about balance. Why don't you use the money for both. Perhaps a JDM rear or something of that sort. That should leave you with 700 or so which you can use to buy a good set of cams and a re-tune.
Now you've changed the cars aesthetics slightly yet tastefully and added some nice power.

HP first! At least that is the way I am going. My car is kinda in need of a paint job esp the side skirts but I am not going to do that until I hit 400ish mark. I guess it all depends on your goals.
Personally, I go exterior first than engine. I changed only intake and TBE and got a repaint, carbon hood/lip ... set of new WORK rims and getting JDM rear bumper when I get my car back. But all up to you. Fact is I don't track, so no need for the 400 hp etc.
I think those power mods you are looking at aren't good choices at all. Neither of those two items are going to get you very much power. However switching to E85 will. That's my vote. Or you could BBK the car for that money.
One thing to think about too...not everyone likes every exterior mod....for example if you put wheels on your car and you like em, that's great...but think about when you go to sell it..Others might not like em. Personally I am not a fan of a/m wheels...on the other hand who wouldn't like more power?
