i got a cel

my check engine light came on today. I checked the code it was a p0401 egr flow insufficient. Mods are tbe, intake, tune, mbc had them mods for a while and i just put a fmic on the car i no it has nothing to do with the egr what do u think the problem is or have u had this before? thanks in advance

First of all dont panic your car is fine...


check your intake manifold you probably have a loose hose.

I had the same issue after I got my car tuned. Check the hoses going to your EGR. I would almost guarantee one has come off. Be sure to zip tie it on to help it from coming off again. Reset your ecu. Should solve your problem

incase you dont know where the EGR is, its located behind and under the throttle body. roll up your sleeves and reach under deep until you feel a wastegate-like device. there should be two small vacuum lines you need for it; they pop off often without a zip tie

What's the place that checks your cels for free? I know I should buy my own device but I'm saving every single penny for my tune next week :/

or the two plastic nipples on the solenoid itself broke off, like mine did yesterday lol. off to the stealership tomm am. warranty FTW

Im pretty sure it's just the egr hose that came off or one of the others in that area.. I didn't throw my first cel until after I was tuned and when I pulled the code it came up with the exat same one. Apprently with the added boost levels this tends to happpen. I just zipped tied mine and haven't thrown a code since.. Good luck

hey guys you were dead on with the vaccum line popping off i put the line back on and zip tied both of them reset the code and hasent come back on yet. you can go to autozone they can get the code for you i bought my own scanner
