Question RS a possibility for US?

It probably won't happen, but I really wish would bring over the RS as well as the GSR trims.

The biggest reason is price (maybe around $25-26?) that way I could at least afford it without my wife divorcing me. I would gladly not have to pay for many items I will replace in the future anyways.

Also I would like to have the car as light as possible (it would be really nice if there was a version with no sound dampening material). All the muscle without the fat

I know what praise everyone heaps on the AYC but it really doesn't interest me much. I would rather have a good suspension setup and some really good mechanical LSD's.

My only complaint/concern if they were to bring over the RS would be the color choices. It would be nice to have it in any color the GSR comes in.

I was wondering if anyone else felt the same way I do about the RS or am I just a freak?

RS, not practical? please explain.

I'd like to see it offered also, if they bring two trim levels the rs would be a good base model, and the mid life crisis guys who can afford the gsr could get it too

I'm all about light weight, but I'm pretty sure that removing all the sound dampening materials would drive you insane or drive your wife to divorce you anyway. Get rid of most of it, sure, but there are some things I'd rather not hear constantly (road/suspension noise from the wheel wells comes to mind).

AAAARGH!!! I just typed up this whole response and I accidently hit the back button on my mouse!!!! Had to start all over again.

On the issue of not having sound dampening material, the Integra Type R does not have any as well as my Bro's 94 Civic HB (he gutted the entire back section & took out all sound mat), both of which I have driven. D@mn what a difference weight (or lack thereof) makes in a car!! My Bro's ride feels like a freakin GO KART!! The xtra noise is not really that intrusive. Most of the xtra noise comes from the exhaust but there is a little road noise (not suspension tho). These aren't enough to bother me just turn up the radio a notch

Why wouldn't the RS be feasable for the US? Both & Subaru didn't think the US was ready for rally cars, Subaru decided to test the waters first and look what has happened. You don't think the US is ready for the harder edged sports cars now?

You think the EVO fanatics that can't afford a GSR will just get a WRX if the RS is available for @ $25k? Even if I could afford a GSR I would rather have the RS. There are a lot of things on the GSR that I would replace anyways. The RS would make a great base model to compete with the WRX.

It would be great if realized the importance/significance of the US aftermarket to their target EVO audience. I think it's clear that most of the EVO buyers will mod their cars after buying them. Why not give us a better platform to begin with (RS)? I honestly don't care if they make a version with only 2psi of boost if they can make it cheaper. I'll worry about making it faster. It's the platform that I wan't. Am I the only one that feels this way?

On the Evo6, the RS had really short gearing as it is meant for rally competition.
The top speed at 5th gear is something like 120mph
Well, that means on the highway at 70mph, your RPM is going to be very high.
This also causes more stress on the engine.
By comparison, the top speed on the GSR/RS-2 is 150mph
RPM at 5th gear at 70mph is about 3000-3500rpm

**** I did the same thing! ****!

I have an evo v rs and use it every day.
In us you are used to long final ratio, and all the otions as power windows aircon etc, And as the evo vii is anyway heavier than the vi, even the rs have airbags, the rs2 will be better as it has got recaro seats choice of colour aircon etc for every day or highway use and it have a top speed of 250kmh.
But the rs is anyway ok and more fun as there is no ayc or abs that are useless when u really go fast on rally stages and heavy!

FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO BUY AN EVO VII WHY DON'T YOU BUY IT FROM RALLIART UK? THEY HAVE LHD EVO VII RS2 FOR 30000 EURO WHITOUT TAXES. THAT WILL BE AROUND 10% FOR CUSTOM CLEARANCE 18% FOR LOCAL TAXES AND MAYBE 1500 EURO FOR SHIPPING!
That would be 38000$ but you would wait only a few weeks.

The shorter gearing is what a 6-speed is for

Ok, maybe the version I want doesn't EXACTLY have to be called the RS but there should be a cheapified BASE MODEL of the car running 1psi of boost with Xtra bracing all around, ABS, steel wheels, normal brakes, AC and maybe Recaro's as options, no AYC/ACD whatever. I think there are a significan't amount of people who would like the platform without some of the xtra things that bump up the price. That leaves some room for some cutomization of this street terror.

BTW When you *accidentally* hit the back key in the browser, your post is GONE FOR GOOD. Must be the way the page is built or something but hitting forward again does nothing.

EDIT: I guess it looks like the RS-2 is the car I want. youhear that? I want you to bring over the RS-2 WE WILL DEMAND IT!!!!!

Ok, enough of that... FREE LAPDANCES FOR EVERYONE!!!

Add my vote for an RS

Not sure if I would be as happy with an RsII or GSR. But I bet I could live with it. Still prefer just a regular RS though.
