RWD Evo8!?
i think you'd break more things without the front diff in there then if it were just capped off.. it was just an article i read in import tuner... that car is built solely for drift, i think a rwd evo wouldnt do well in drag racing cuz there isnt enough weight to help the car get traction in the rear..

I would agree. hence why my sig says oz.. but at this point there isn't anything diffrent about my chassis and a evo one. so yes while my vin bares that of a oz that is about the end of it. I wasn't trying to make this about me so instead of rambling on about what I am now its easier to just say lancer evo, though if someone came up to me and said nice evo, I'd probably tell em its a lancer... but really does it matter that much in this case when a name is a name?...
the problem was it was written it is like my chassis so sub par to the evo one which is incorrect.
he is just pissed at me because I pick on rrm
but anyways lets not get this off topic shall we.

^ which I am aware.. But it's not just body panels.. Fromt and rear suspension complete subframes and mounting swapped body is being stich welded 10pt roll cage.. If you want to discuss this more then do it in my thread please.. Not here
i know rmr sells an adapter plate to use a gm transmission for the evo as well
This is basically what I would do to if I had to do it. Swap the engine around, throw in something like a T56, solid axle in the rear, etc. It'd be more custom stuff than anything I think and the money you'd get from selling your stock evo tranny, transfer case and rear-end would probably help pay for a big chunk of it.
Please don't flame me, this is a serious question! lol. Has anyone, ASIDE from the gay tokyo drift car, converted their Evo to rear-wheel drive? It just seems like it'd be so much better as far as drag racing goes to have a car that's rear-wheel drive instead of all wheel drive. The advantages of this IMO would be, less moving parts in the drivetrain, cheaper to maintain, lighter and you'd be able to get more power to the ground.. I just feel like there are so many advantages to this that I find it hard to believe that some shop or import dragster team hasn't converted unless there really is some sort of underlying negative to doing this. Brent Raus DSM is rwd and is currently the fastest if I'm not mistaken.. Just an interesting thought that popped into my head a while ago and figured I'd get the opinions from the peanut gallery.
Plus who wouldn't want to see an Evo do a wheelie!? lol

I totally agree with you a rwd evo would be sick... it would have no traction at first but all the front wheels power would give to the rears and it would be putting more at the rear wheels but be basically just as fast!
just pull the axles for the front and have a custom plate weld over them so they wouldnt leak any fluid! Bam! done!

Also, I have an OZ (girl does) and I would NEVER EVER call it a "lancer evo"
Take the good out of an Evo and that's what is left over
lol if you want to get technical the only thing left from the oz is the vin tag.
I dont see what your point of correcting me was all about as I was simply trying to show the original poster that if you want to do it right, it can be done but as I said the time and money spent is better off buying a existing rwd car.
