Question In need of a BOV.....what do you guys suggest?

I'm new to the evolutionm world and so far very happy with it, it took me a while to find a good site and looks like I found it. Well I am interested in putting in a blow off valve. I was looking at the famous HKS one and many have suggested the a Greddy. What do think would work on my 04 Evo?

Edited @ 0916 HRS : I forgot to mention I was planning on getting the ecu chiped to increase my boost does that make a diffrence on what I should go with?

9 out of 10 will tell you get a evo 9 oem one because its metal and it holds boost well. I can agree to that i also like the synapse valve but it takes a little more work getting it in because its so big, but never have to worry about a leak with it either.

evoM is the 5th result if u google "lancer evolution"...just saying its the only place to be, 2nd and this will more then likely be backed up by other members, unless your running more boost then the stock 1 can handle dont change it, if you still have the stock evo 8 BOV then get a metal evo 9 BOV, the HKS will give you problems, i know some members run them with no problems but 95% of people who get it and run it with the stock MAF setup encounter problems, the greddy RS is good as well as the Type-S as long as your recirculate them back to the intake.

personally i would recommend the 9 diverter and when the time comes to up the boost you can crush the top of it down and get a few more lbs of insurance

synapse has my vote. leak tested my ix bov and it leaked around 26 psi. i plan on pushing past that limit, so i picked up a synapse to get it out of the way now.

it isnt as complicated to install as most people make it out to be. i definitely wouldnt try putting it in an evo without short route piping though.

I have a Single Spring Mod Greddy Type-S recirc and it's great. I get that "cool ricer sound" through my intake

Did you try looking in this section if not then a its a start or you could use the search feature. If all you want is the swoosh sound, like a ricer, there are many you can go with.

I had a metal MR bov. Swapped over to the Forge RS recirc and that held 28psi much better.

when I first got mine, I called Shiv at Vishnu and he said dont change it. The OEM was fine.
