Do I need to be retuned?

Hi Everyone,

I am about to get my VIII back from the shop and I was wondering if I needed to be retuned. I had my stock block pulled in favor of a built 2.0L

Built 2.0L Specs
AMS Pistons
Pewter Rods - Std. Height
Knifedged Crank
ARP Hardware Throughout the Complete Engine
ACL Trimetal Main/Rod Bearings
Balance Shaft Eliminated
New Water Pump
New Oil Pan
New Oil Pump

I needed to get a new set of Head Studs and instead of getting another pair of ARP's, I decided to go with the MAPerformance Studs with the Dog Point Feature...

MAPerformance Releases 8740 Chromoly 4g63 Head Studs with Dog Point Feature!

The car was originally tuned for:
GSC 274 Intake Cam Ver. 2
GSC 272 Exhaust Cam Ver. 2

I need to replace the Exhaust Cam and I am just planning on switching to Kelford 272's (Supertech Springs, Ti Retainers)

For the time being I am planning on swapping in my stock cams...

The car is getting a new OEM timing belt and OEM head gasket.

I am swapping out my single disc clutch for an Exedy Twin HD (SS Clutch Line and STM Clutch Fork)

Mod list from before and after the short block swap:

BoostLogic SC61 DBB Turbo Kit
HKS DLI 2
AMS Front Mount Intercooler
Vishnu Signature Turbo Back Exhaust w/ Test Pipe
Mitsubishi JDM IX MR BOV
Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
Turbo XS Upper Intercooler Pipe
SMC Meth Kit Ver. 2
Precision 880cc Injectors

(GSC 274 Intake Cam Ver. 2 ---- Planning on putting in stock cams
GSC 272 Exhaust Cam Ver. 2) --- until the car is tuned

The car is currently tuned on 93oct + Meth Injection. I would like to be able to normally run the car on just pump and have a second tune down the road for pump + meth.

Basically, I am just wondering if I need to get the car retuned before I drive it or if I can drive it. I plan to have the car tuned down the road, but I am getting near the end of the school year and then I am studying abroad in Europe so I just don't have much time right now.

Thanks in advance,

Matt

could you drive it? probably

I certainly wouldn't try and boost it or push the car at all without a retune

if you honestly are considering driving it without a tune then you need to rethink things

why rebuild the motor and then drive it on a tune for a completely different motor...that's asking for trouble

I want to have kelfords and a tune done at buschur (4hrs from me). I need to break the clutch in and I don't plan on boosting at all. I do not want to do anything harmful to the car, this is why I'm asking.

Thanks! I look forward to working something out. As of now the plan is to have the car flashed by 4WS until I get her dyno tuned.
