oil pressure sensor

Were is a good place to put the oil pressure sensor on a motor or does it really matter were it is. This is for a oil pressure gauge.

I just bought AMS's Remote Oil Pressure Sending Unit Line. It's pretty sweet, brought my sending unit up right next to my ABS unit and I was able to just cable tie it up there and run my wires right to the left through the firewall. Definitely worth it IMO.

Put mine on the oil filter housing. Was not a super difficult install. (knock on wood) so far everything has held up great.

I agree with Bobster22388, did the same thing with the AMS braided line except that I mounted the oil pressure sensor and the boost sensor on the passenger side strut tower. IMO this keep the sensors accessible, and away from engine vibration.

The Oil Pressure Sensor must be able to compensate the Oil Pressure Switch of the car. In this way you would really feel the performance factors in your own vehicle in order to really get it going in your vehicle.

Update: Don't use a brass "T" on stock location. Too much vibration and mine is broke. Working on a flex line replacement...

Where is that bracket mounted that you are using to mount the senders? Did you weld it to the strut tower? Do you have more pictures of that setup?

No need for any welding. The bracket is mounted to the existing stud for the ABS-ECU bracket on the strut tower. I used a round spacer about 3/16 inch between the two brackets. I made the bracket out of 90 degree 1/8 inch aluminum, 4 1/2 inches long. (Got it at Ace hardware)

Hope this helps.

What size holes did you put in for the sensors? Which boost sensor do you have? It is mounted with just the one screw? I like it.
