A 2.4 would deliver crazy torque however what are you able to rev that out to?

I already have the Red and I need more power!!!

Well I think I am going to go with a custom turbo from Comp becausee they can build it for high altitude. Looking for 650-700 WHP with that turbo and quicker spool then your 3586. We'll see how it goes!

No FP Black for me, I want to go BIG!

People also have to remember we're at 5800 feet here in Denver. The turbo's have to spin SO much more just to make decent boost. My 3586HTA tapers from 35 to 31 psi which really sucks. FP black will do the same thing. I'm so jealous when I see many here push their 3586 to 40psi and it holds it all the way to redline. Keep in mind I also have larger Kelford 280/280 cams, 4" FMIC, Magnus intake, 75mm TB and 3" UICP. With smaller cams and piping, you'd see better spool.

Mine- 3586HTA, 2.0, ported head, Kelford 280 cams, 35psi

(having some spark blow out after 8k)
Same setup on a dynojet with a high CF:

Mario's- FP Black, 2.3, ported head, Kelford 272 cams, 36psi

You may want to talk to Lucas about the Black. I know he wasn't that happy with it on his black Evo.

Was a correction factor used on both cars? Even with a CR used it is 650ish at 15% correction and 625 with 20% CR used, not a slow car at all. BTW I hate correction factors sorry.

And with the black, that is what I was arguing in Dennis' other thread and everyone kept saying go with the black. It will not be efficent at a mile high, people at sea level have it easy and don't realize what we have to deal with up here. Plus your hta86 is tapering and like you said, that doesn't happen at sea level.

Well post up your results when you get it, I am interested in this turbo you are talking about. I wonder what they do differently for altitude compared to the regular turbos. I am dead set on a hta86 though and building the engine for e85 and a higher CR to build boost faster and get 650-750 UNCORRECTED in Abq or Denver if I ever move back there.

E85 on both cars.

I'm not sure about Marios but my CF was 1.19. I should have got a plot of the un-corrected numbers. Sorry about the crappy picture. I need to get a scanner!

Depending how a couple do this summer with their turbo's, I may go with a different turbo this winter. So far I'm thinking of the following:
-Have FP upgrade my 3586HTA to 3588HTA
-Twin Scroll setup (4094)
-PT 6765

I'd be curious how the Comp solution works for you Dennis.

Check it out:

Tobz wants to sell his kit and get a Borg Warner setup, you got the HTA, Dan's got the 6765, I want to be different. I will send a spec sheet to Comp and they will build me custom turbo that will function better here at high altitude! I wanted to order my setup this coming week but think it will be best if I hold out to get exactly what I want and not settle.

I'd be curious what they can do for high altitude. No anti-surge option?

What sold me on the 3586 is Bushurs Bad Bish but again thats a sea level car. I'll be installing a Turbosmart EBC and hope it helps a little with my taper. I hear my WG still open even at the higher RPM's when it shouldn't be.
