Something big soon

Well most of you probably have no idea who I am. I've bought things from a few people here and there but Iv spent most of my 5 years on the board just sitting back reading and learning as much as I can.

Anyways I'm currently serving in the United States Army and was recently deployed for a second time (This time to Iraq). And that gave me the great chance to re enlist for a nice fat tax free bonus.

With that said, having a large amount of money at one time for the first time in my life I decided to payoff the remaining balance on my Evo and use the rest to go ***** out.

Now since Im 8 hours ahead of Central time and waiting for my wife to wake up I figured Id ask for your guys opinion. If you had 18k to do a build (with daily driver and weekend autocross in mind) what would it be and who would you have do it?

Figured it would be fun to see what kinda build options there are. I already have a really good idea as to what I want but please Id love to hear what you think is a great setup for me and why.

Josh

Yeah Buschur builds some amazing machines no doubt about that. Im staying stock frame, I think itll be better for Autocross. Most likley a red or black.

Its hot, not sure the tempurature but if I had to guess 120 or so. With nice hair dryer heat winds lol. Im near the southern border near Kuwait and Iran.

but if i were you i'd build the motor good place to go is buschur or ams, get a shep trans, a twin disk clutch, and figure out what turbo you want to get it all depends how much time you spend in autocross and a good set of tires and suspension is also needed =]

Thank you for serving us 1st off.

I have a BR motor. Still fairly new, but it holds whatever you throw at it! And the FP red is bada** on 35+LBS of boost. GL with the build. Keep us updated.

Thanks for the support.

Yeah Ill definitly keep the community up to date as I can since the car will be getting done up while Im still here so I can hopefully make it to DSM shootout since my R&R is in August.

Im really thinkin about a Project white clone but with an FP Black maybe...and since my car is TB I guess it would be Project Black lol.

Ok, well after a month or so of looking around and trying to figure out what I wanted to build David hooked me up with something a lot like Project white. Which is cool since I plan to autocross it but still wanna throw down a respectable time at the 1/4mi. Let me know what ya think.

That sounds like a good idea. I am also a Soldier, finishing my year in Korea and headed to Fort Sill Oklahoma to be an AIT platoon sergeant. Not the greatest but not the worst neither.

First off let me start by saying thank you for your service in the armed forces. Secondly, if you want a stock frame turbo with quick spool and capable of giving 400 whp, I would recommend the BBK turbo from CBRD (Pennsylvania). Got mine about 2 months ago and am amazed at how this thing changes the car. Spools up almost like stock but the push in the back side is rediculous all the way to 8000 rpm. Of course I have supporting mods also, but that goes without saying. When you get a chance, give Chad a call. He is more than willing to help his customers individualize their builds for whatever the specified use. Good luck over there and come back safe. Good luck with the build.
