Mechanic for the EVO
Mechanic for the EVO
Hey guys.
As some of you know i just purchased my evo 8. Just was wondering if the evo is a car that should only be cared for by mechanics that specialize in the evo?
I have a great honest mechanic who specializes in the Nissan 300zx, back when i had my 300zx TT he was the guy. Nobody else touched it. With that said, is there any reason he wouldny be a great mechanic for my evo?
Thanks.

People who work with evo's day in and day out can usually diagnos and make repairs much faster. That said, if you like your mechanic and he feels he can expand his knowledge base into working on Evo's (without charging you for the extra time involved in that learning curve) then go with the guy you know and trust. Maybe even offer to help him when it comes to your car so you can start to learn about it too.
Now when it comes to ecu tuning, go with an established Evo tuner, period.

Im in Ontario, California which is about an hr. east of Los Angeles. I also know that Road Race is not far away (about an hr) in Santa fe springs. Who knows they may end up being my new go to guys as i know they know there stuff. I was just asking since i've already dealt with my guy for yrs, and feel comfortable with him.
