Deak's Silver Bullet Build / ETS, MAPerformance, Sparktech, CBRD Review
I finally wanted to start this thread in my off time here in Afghanistan I will add to it as I find more pics.
This is my First EVO Build..... I aquired the Car shortly after getting back from a Deployment in April 2009. I saw it drive through a parking lot. Two Hours later after meeting with the owner he had the asking price for the car in his hands and I had my First EVO.
The Car was an unmolested for the Most Part 21K mile car..... had a Dent in the Front Bumper Cover(Supposedly from a Parking lot Accident, Race Pipe was Installed Backwards, HKS Coilovers that were not setup correctly. It was used for a little while Autocrossing and never saw above stock boost.
My build really started in late August when I removed the engine and got word that I was getting sent on a Mission to Vietnam for 2 months. So the Car sat at my house without an engine and the engine sat in the livingroom of the house until I picked up Parts in Wisconsin that I had shipped there for my Trip home for X-mas. Thankfully my landlord that didnt care about the floor cause he wanted to replace all the tile but I told him to wait till I moved out in a year because I am going to mess it up worse.....hahaha
So While I was in Vietnam I decided to sell off all the parts that I had aquired trying to do a "Mild FP Green Setup" and go another route so I could upgrade easier in the future, I learned this lesson the hard way with my 3000GT VR4 7K too late by just upgrading to a Stock Frame turbo setup and later going to a TD05 Setup instead.
Here is the Setup I decided to go with until I get off the Island of Guam.
Stock 2.0 w/ Buschur Stage 3 Head / Kelford 272 Cams w/Fidanza Gears
MAPerformance Rev 3 Manifold w/ Mil-Spec 65mm TB
SparkTech Pro12 CDI COP Ignition w/ Quick DC, Box Bracket
ETS T3 Equal Length Mani/ CBRD 330r Turbo
PTE 880cc Injectors/ Walbro 255l FP / Fuellab FPR
ETS 3.5" FMIC with Short Route UICP
CBRD Race Radiator w/Slim Fan
Exedy Dual Disc HD Clutch ( After an Issue with the QM Twin Glazing Over)
Now for the Pics

Love at First Sight... Why did I wait so long to get an EVO? I dropped 20K on my 3000GT VR4 Build when I could have had a Real Monster

The Damage on the Bumper was Worse than it looked.

This was as Close to Snow as my Dog was going to see in Guam.... Thanks ETS

Stock Battery alongside Buschur Mini Batt.

Beautiful CBRD Race Radiator vs. Stock POS

The Parts Table before the Build

ARP Headstuds before the BR Head got installed.

My Dog Herc trying to Figure out the Timing Belt Page

Bolted up and Looking Good..... SparkTech Sitting Pretty up top. Its good to be Single, thats my Dining Room Table....haha

On the Way Back to the Hobby Shop so I could Drop the Motor Back in.

Engine getting Stabbed back in the Load Leveler from Summit Made this Alot Easier. I wouldnt work on an EVO Motor without one again. When I took the Engine out I didnt have this and we were Prying and pushing at a Crazy Angle to get the Motor to Clear the Frame

Beautifully Ported MAPerrformance Rev 3 Manifold

Scaring a Friend that has a Stock 9..... this is a little Drift Area on Guam.

12.7 with a Soaked Track, we waited for 3 hours to get to run that night. I trapped 126mph so I know she will run a hell of alot faster with a Dry Track.

Thanks for the Props Deak. It is a pleasure being part of your build. It looks like it is coming together quite nicely.
Now hurry up and get back home so you can enjoy it.

Thanks for the Comments...... I added more pics, Vids are coming later on. I dont think I have any pics of the Bay Cleaned up only on a Few Vids. I am going to keep adding to this. The Car pulls pretty damn Hard but there isn't a Dyno on Guam. When she gets back to the States it is going to be tore apart again and a New Built 2.0 Buschur or MAPerformance Shortblock is going in with a PTE 6262 Turbo with a little Meth or E85 if I can get some 55gallon Drums.

Thanks to these Vendors for the Hard work and Quality Products and Services.
Mellon Tuning- Chris thank you so much for working with me and being Patient through some really ****ty logging sessions. The Car Sees Minimal Knock and Pulls Strong as hell. When the Profec-B Spec 2 Defaulted to 2.33 Bar instead of 23 PSI during the Tuning it felt Amazing. I am glad that you start her out slow. I got home and was messing with things and Realized I had just ran 32-34 PSI and I didn't see the SES "Knock Light Once". Its hard to tune on that really ****ty Guam gas our 91 Octane is probably more like 89 or something due to the Shipping overseas and the Holding Tanks in less than Ideal Guam Conditions. I will be going with Mellon Tuning for sure on my Next tune if I am staying with the Stock ECU/MAS Setup. The First time I cranked the Key the EVO ran like a Top..... KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK CHRIS.
ETS- Michael and the Gang for the Great Military Discounts and the Quality Craftsmanship..... The Mani and Intercooler/Piping Setup is something to Behold. I will be looking towards you for the Next Turbo Setup.... a BB PTE6262 with Oil Line (Unless you have a 6062 there) with a LICP and V-Band Recirced Downpipe. Stay Dry up there in the PNW.
CBRD - Thanks for getting the Turbo Kit off Mick's Car and getting it shipped to me right when I arrived in WI so I could give it a once over and see what I needed to complete the setup. The 330r is an Amazing Street Turbo... Spools Quick as Hell and I have not come Close to maxing it out yet. My Dog Loved the Stickers.... Thanks for Answering my Questions whenever I called.
MA Performance - Casey thanks for working around all the USPS BS and getting me my Parts on time. The REV3 Mani is Crazy. People were shocked at the Porting. You will be getting a Visit from me to work on my VR4 beast at the End of this Year when I am back in Cold *** WI.
Spark Tech- Craig I cant thank you enough for the Great Customer Service and getting my the ONLY Blue Anodized COP Billet Protectors. I hope I can really put the System to use when I build her up some more.
AMS - Thanks for Working with me on the MIL-SPEC 65mm TB, Oil Cooler kit and Staying open late when I was lost and trying to find the shop driving down from Wisconsin on leave. I got to tour the Facilities and I almost came when I walked through the Bays and saw the TA EVO and the GT-Rs that were being Gutted. Next time I am back there I will be Driving down again to lay down the Plastic and walk away with more Quality parts.
Extremepsi.com - Great Site that has a ton of Stuff for a Build.... I spent alot of Money on this site and my Stuff shipped to my FPO address really Quick and well Packaged.
Vr-speed.com - Tiago gave me great Prices and cut and shipped my Exhaust with no Questions asked to me out here in Guam. People were pretty Shocked and asked how I got it out to Guam.
Buschur Racing - I did not get the Head from you directly but the Piece was Top notch. I know that the EVO would not be running anywhere near is potential without the Kelfords getting to Rev a little Higher and Huff some Serious CFM. You are the First Company that comes to Mind when I think of Quality Shortblocks for my Next Build so I dont have to worry about anything when I rev her up, its going to be a battle between BR and MA Performance for my Next Drag Motor.

Thanks for the Props on the Dog.... He is Badass likes to just sit and watch me Turn Wrenches, but he is scared of the Evo. When its Running he Barks like Crazy at it. I have to get him in it to take him for a ride and then start it and he loves it Just hangs his Head out the Window.
Yeah it was nice to stare at the Parts..... I had the FP Green Parts in one Corner and the T3 Build in another people would come over and go WTF Man.... it was a Parts Warehouse at one time.
