I've never had a VII mate although I'm pretty sure it would be more or less the same as an VIII. The VIII I had in the US was easier to get on with as a daily driver as my V RS is a lot rawer. I'd also say the VIII is easier to drive on the limit as you have to work the V harder... the VIII does a lot of the work for you if that makes sense. To be honest any Evo is a joy to drive.
