I bought my 00 Eclipse from him in 99. Hes a real cool guy. For what it's worth this is what he said. He is real confident that we will be getting the VIII. He said it will be all but the VII styling. His dealership will be ordering in Sept-Oct. Thats when he'll know the options, etc. Delivery should be late Dec. He said that Corporate has been stingy with releasing any info to his Dealership. The original estimates of Evos at his delarship was between 5-6/year. He said they were prolly going to up that to 7-8/year based on the WRX sales. But they dont want to be like the WRX and have tons of cars out there, they want to keep it in demand. He said that more than likely the "under 30k" EVO will be the first released without the AYC and ACD with the other being over 30 with those options included. As for performance, he said the only number he heard is 268hp, which of course isn't definite. He did also mention he had seen 2 Evo commericals comparing the US EVO with the Rally edition. He is just as excited to get the car in his dealership as I am to buy one. I put my deposit of $500 in in March at MSRP. If anyone is from the York, PA area and want an EVO u can put in a deposit. I am the first of only 3 so far. He said there has been a lot of interest but only 3 deposits. Well, thats all I can remember from the conversatiion...hope it helps

 

I am #1 at the Lancaster Mitsubishi at MSRP.... my paperwork officially says EVO VII, so i guess if it is a EVO VIII they could try and hose me, but I will talk to them again before too long.

I was first from Faulkner Honda to get a S2000 almost 3 years ago (beat the hell out of it for 24k miles then sold it).

Hey thats cool man, I didnt know u can put a deposit on an Evo. I live in lancaster. What part of york and lancaster do u guys live at.

I think the dealer is right about the Evo VIII part. The VII has stopped production. He seems like a much more honest dealer than most... not blowing too much smoke when there's no info out there. That's always nice to see.

I drive a '98 GTI VR6 right now, a lot of people think that I did a swap into a Fox, but it just happens that Fox is my last name. Actually right now, my moped's been getting more miles than my car since it's been so nice out
