Here in Arizona we have probably the loosest gun and carry laws in the country. But if you shoot someone and you're not badly broken, seriously wounded or bleeding, you're gonna spend a couple nickels in prison.

Much better to carry a taser for people like the OP encountered - but the police here WILL shoot you if they see one.
