Partner not Owner
doesn't chrysler owns 51% of mitsubishi motor
the right to start changing their lineup like doing something so sacriligeous as putting "Dodge" on a Lancer Evolution. If they want
to revive the Lancer name from so many years back, it can be
on a Mirage hatch, but not the EVO. DCX and Mitsu and Hyundai
have entered into a huge joint venture which means common technology
being shared across all the platforms. You might see a basic economical four banger in the small cars, developed by the four of them. The neat high end stuff they may come about is some form of Merc V8 showing up under the hood of the next Diamante, a possible Formula or CART engine developed by Merc and Mitsu and just the overall amalgamation of German precision, American innovation, Japanese engineering, and Korean efficiency to produce the world's best automobiles.
What about the other 63%? Most of it is held by other separate Mitsubishi companies, like Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Mitsubishi Electric, Asahi Glass, and the Mitsubishi Bank of Tokyo - also many other Japanese and American holders.
sorry, I can't elaborate yet
I will let you all know more as soon as I do for certain, I'm SOOOOOO sick of the rumors and if I told you anything definite now, I"d just be adding to them

It has already been reported in the automotive press that the next-gen Neon and next-gen Lancer WILL share a platform. (Try autonews.com for starters) To what extent is currently unknown. Not that it bears any weight with you guys, but I personally know a Chrysler powertrain engineer who has been involved in the project.
I wouldn't write this one off JUST yet.
