At a recent rallycross, my power steering pump on my 03 VIII went to shambles on me.

At idle, not moving, it doesn't work, hard to turn, you can hear it whining. If I rev it up at idle, not moving, you can tell the PS kicks in and it's easy to turn. Has a lot of whining noise as well now. Fluid level is fine, belt is fine.

My question is, is the PS pump from the regular Lancer (same model years) the same?

Just trying to look for the cheapest fix, I may even do a PS delete kit.

It's not bothering me so much yet, but I figure I need to get it fixed. I don't think it can hurt anything in the mean time.

I just so happen to still have an extra ps pump. I thought mine was going bad, but it turns out that it was the pulley behind it going out. I bought the pump from awdmotorsports. If you are in the market to buy one, I still have it. Pm me for any questions
