hey was up everyone! one of my friends had just brought a 2003 evo 8 and he wants to upgrade his turbo to a evo ix 10.5 hotside. he wanted me to ask you guys what things will he need besides the install kit?

Might at well change out the o2 housing while ur in there...buy install kit is all he needs...and a good set of hands to help...

if hes going to upgrade to a 10.5 hotside is he planning on upgrading his o2, exhaust, icp, tune? just upgrading to to an evo IX turbo will not make the car faster.. just sayin

right now on his is car is this set-up, buschur 3" fmic, injen ic pipes, 3" full exhaust system with test pipe,

you mean is capable of making more power.. u cant slap it on and shazamm!! the car is faster..

oh yeah i had forgot about that as well, he have greddy profec spec II boost controller and he just installed a walbro 255 fuel pump

i dont see the point in wasting time and money buying a evo 9 turbo. I personally would say buy the 9 turbo then send it in to be upgraded to either a fp line or BBk line. dont waste time installing it buy it send it off for a real turbo. as others have stated you should upgraded the o2 housing and port/coat the exhaust manifold as well or get a nice tubular manifold

yeah i know, but he told me that's for right now and when he graduates next year then he's going to upgrade to a bigger turbo but right now he wants a evo 9 turbo.
