Accidental driveline abuse

I was out messing around, practicing my launch technique, and I was at a dead stop. I accidentally over-revved it when I let out the clutch. The car made some funny sound, ran odd for a few seconds. After that, everything seemed fine. No leaks, no holes, nothing. How worried should I be?

May have just bounced it off the rev limiter "Boondock"

Drive it around normally and make sure all is well

How high of an over-rev are we talking about here? Float a valve territory? What cams do you have installed and is it a built valvetrain?

I didn't think you could over rev a IX when launching because of the 2-step? Sounds to me like you bogged the car down bad by dumping the clutch too quick.

My bad, didn't include details. The 2 step didn't kick in so ~8000rpm. It's got basic bolt-ons @ 25lbs. It drove fine afterwards, I think it was the sound of an unhappy driveline. Just freaked me out lol.

IF the car is moving 2 step will not engage. Who knows what you could have damaged. Maybe nothing.
