boost question

boost question

ok i just got a tune and was trying to raise the boost to 20 just using the solenoid and the flash program and it wont raise higher than the 16 its on is there anyway to raise it without getting a boost controller?

are you saying you run 16psi? if so then you should do a boost leak test

yeah we just ran a boost leak teast and holed up everything afterwards i installed a 255 fuel pump and we tuned the computer and it said i was running 16 pounds of boost and wont let me raise it with the program

To raise the boost you will need a boost controller. Hallman makes a nice manual boost controller.

A boost controller will let you raise the boost above stock, but stock boost level should be 19.5-20.3 depending on your model car. If you are only hitting 16 psi it sounds like you have a boost leak, after you fix the leak you should invest in a boost controller.
