GODDSPEED intercoolers any good??

Ok i bought a crashed evo from a realitive of mine, and is has front end damage. i dont want to waste too much money on things to fix it..so i was wondering if a Goddspeed intercooler is any good. Or if i should find myself a stock one. budget kind of tight.

stock ones are stupid cheap, if you look you can find them for less than 100 shipped, godspeed is your typical ebay intercooler, it'll flow slightly better than stock but weighs twice as much, IMO id buy a stock one for now, or a good condition used brand name one from the classifieds. thats where i got my ams intercooler

Yea, just buy a stock one for now, I'm sure a couple local guys still have their old one's if you post up in the Mid-Atlantic section. Come over to that forum anyways and join some of our meets!

I had one but fitting it was a *****. You more than likely need to get a custom UICP(lower part) to make it fit because the endtanks are straight and not angled like most evo specific intercoolers.

If you can find a godspeed for cheaper than a stock one go for it.

There's nothing wrong with going with a stock one for now just to get the vehicle moving. When you saved up some more cash treat yourself to a nice intercooler and pipe set.

wow i could not resist but posting on here, all i saw were post by people who repeat what they see on the net without trying of knowing first hand.

the GS intercooler works with the stock IC piping just get the right couplings for it.
also it flows slightly better then stock? what facts do YOU have to support this ?
the GS i have on my VIII currently was pulled from my Silvia and we made muliple 480whp passes on the dyno with it without a hicup/knock/heatsoak of anysort.
i am running a 4" core set up on mine

Your best bet is to get a stock intercooler until you can buy a better unit. Like a Buschur ic.

I would have gave you my stock one for free. I gave it away to some PR dude in a DSM a few weeks ago. Let me know if there is anything else you might need. I have the stock injectors, stock IX cams, stock o2 housing I can sell for cheap.
