staggered tires????......

staggered tires????......

my buddy just bought a set of wheels and he is using tires with 225/40/18 in the front and 245/40/18 in the rears!.......i told him its not safe for the car but he installed it anyways and drove off!.......what would be the outcome??help me explain it more to my buddy.

its actually ok
like some FF car lets say DC5
they run 225 in front and 205 behind
and S15 run 245 at the front and 265 at the rear
its ok

Was this an Evo? If so, he CANNOT do that. If not, meh.

But a FF isn't AWD. if they are different rolling diameters, which they probably are, he could mess up the diffs. Smike types faster than me apparently.

LULZ! im new to 4wd cars but all i know that its not safe. dont know the exact reason and the consequences of installing staggered set up

Its only a problem if there not the same height size. As it would throw off the fw and rw gearing and cause more wear an tear on the t case and rear diff.

Just saw you said 225/40 and 245/40, yes this is a problem. He could do it but would need to do somethign like 225/40 and 245/30 or 245/35 not sure on the exact combo.

Not could. He will kill the diffs or TCase. He should've bought a RWD car if he wanted a staggered setup.
