Personally, I didn't start trying proper launches on my MR until I had the money set aside for the clutch I wanted to get to support my intended power goals. But then again, I have a nasty habit of thinking about worst-case scenarios..

Look at all my mods. And in the high 300 awhp range, and I launched the car pretty hard last weekend with no issues.

umm it all depends on how many miles you got on it my evo had 25k miles on it and i took it to the track and it was done the next day with few passes

I respectfully disagree. I know people with high miles on their stock clutch and they hit the track hard. But they baby the car when its not on the track. My buddy has 75k on his original clutch and it is still holding up fine. It all depends on how you treat the car.
