Do you spreadsheet your build?

Hi guys,

I just saw a mention from someone else while I was browsing around about having their build in a spreadsheet, and was curious how many other people out there do this. At first I thought I may have been a little bit crazy, but over the last few weeks I've probably sunk 20+ hours into setting up different potential purchase layouts, embedded links to parts, pricing, etc: suspension build, powertrain, exterior, interior, total, comparisons between a budget build and full-kill mode, and finding the happy medium to blend it all together... it's really amazing how quickly even the small items can add up(especially working on a budget)! Am I the only one that does this, or is it pretty commonplace in the community?

Chime in!

I do, with all the options out there I was trying to get a plan in my head going. That totally wasn't working out lol, I had to have it saved somewhere else.

Yes.

It helps me find the best prices, or barter with one dealer to get the best prices. Ontop of that, it also makes sure I am getting everything I need, and lets me decide on what stuff isn't needed.

Absolutly. I keep track of the parts I've bought both new and used. Compare the prices to retail so I can show the wife I managed to save a little money. I log my tire type and mileage I got out of them. My track alignment specs go into it along with times.

Nope I don't want to know how much I spent really, it would probably make me sick

A full build on an evo is deff no joke cash wise, deff turned out more expensive than I thought, but you guys should like my build thread when I put it up. Just waiting for the completion to be a little closer before I do.

Yep, definitely look over every possible scenario and narrow it down from there.
