Exclamation Changing your oil too much is bad!?

Read up and this sounds true, to change your oil excessively it removes important impurities that prolong bearing life!!

How many of us have blow an engine with a week old oil change?!

I know I have..

Mostly from forums, you can't get a straight answers... The best reason, it makes sense... Most oils need a few thousand for chemicals to correctly bond.

I encourage you to do the research.

Changing ur oil frequently is always good, just like ur transfer case and differential fluids. You can never change it too often.

I have my doubts on this one, but would be curious to see some concrete evidence.

Maybe you didn't put enough oil in(blown motor). I don't change my oil for like 3,000 to 5,000 miles. I know for in fact that people don't change it every 1k miles

I have heard this in the past from my personal mechanic. He specialized in European cars. I don't have evidence but would love to see it. I do agree that it makes sense. My mechanic advised me to not change oil before the recommended 5000 miles initially because the impurities and metal shavings in the cylinder at breakin help to smooth out the cylinder wall. Still... No evidence but makes some sense.

+1 on that....

OP has thread up as a concern with a question mark. Obviously he was asking around for the insight and stating a possible fact.

I've heard and witnessed this on many accounts... Even the grassroots racers and old timers state it time and time again (they do know their ****).

Plus euro mechs are stating it! More than a myth here fellas.

I usually change my oil at the 3k mile mark, but have been told to change it at 5k. I would like to see evidence of this as well.
