Auto Express has a nice Cars Honours for 2003 and lists as great sports cars, 1st Mini Cooper S, 2nd Ford Focus RS, and 3rd Subaru WRX.
I can understand the 1st and 3rd, both are fun to drive, never had the chance to drive an Focus RS here in the states, but can imagine from my ZX3 that it would rate so highly.
But I'm surprised with the Euro market and their AYC, SACD equipped Evolutions not to see it on the list.
Euro folks, what are your experiences with these 4 cars?

Prolly price limited. The WRX is on there, and not the STi... seems only cars < $24k-ish are on there.
These are all rated according to offerings in britain, and the Focus RS lists for just under £20,000. That's just over $34,000. I think it's more of how much fun the car is to drive which makes sense for their choices. The Evo is a real fun car to drive as well, but do the electronics on the euro model lessen that?

the focus RS is nothing like any focus we get here in the states... hence the price tag... its their wrc spin off.

I seriously doubt they'd leave it out because it isnt as 'fun to drive' . Its more the fact the STi and EVO are far better performers, AND more expensive in UK as EVO and sTi i believe are £28,000-£32,000.Focus RS lists for just under £20,000. That's just over $34,000.
