so yesterday i was getting all ready for the e-town evo/sti showdown tomorrow, cleaned out the car, washed, wax, etc...

last night im driving on the highway and as i go through the EZPASS, i decided to punch from 2nd - 3rd gear and WWHHAAMMM! it sounds like a damn grenade goes off under the hood and smoke everywhere! out the hood, in through the air vents, and oil shooting all over my windshield... the motor seizes up and the car shuts off... i was moving between 70-80mph... i pulled the car over and popped the hood.... OIL EVERYWHERE! its now around 3am and im stuck only 3 miles away from my house...

so i call AAA to get a tow truck, obviously the motor is toasted, when i tried to crank it, it sounded like a garbage bag full of nails being thrown around... AAA tells me once i give them the number on the account that my dad had canceled their service last month... WTF!!! i ended up having to call my dad and have him push me back home the 3 miles with the POS pontiac sunfire we have against my back bumper... at this point i said f*** it, so now the back of the bumper is all scratched up and needs to be repainted as well, but thats the least of my problems....


this morning i jacked the car up, pulled off the front bumper, FMIC, UICP, intake, battery, etc... to see what was going on inside... as far as i can tell, there arent any holes in the block, but as i go to remove the heat shield off the exhaust manifold, the damn socket wrench snaps in 2! come one now! are you serious?!

the car is now going to TurboTrix on monday... i missed last years evo/sti day and was stoked about bringing the evo this year, after having all the work i had done by Iveytune back in July, and of course the F***** car blows up like 24hrs before the damn event!
just my luck... God hates me...

hopefully tomorrow they have a beer garden at the event , i could use a few drinks to get my mind off this...

P.S. - i dont wanna hear anyone tell me "thats what happens when you beat your car" i know that already... but we all drive evos and beat the crap out of them, thats what they are meant for and thats why we build them, to go fast and have fun... ill post pics of the damage once everything is ripped apart...

 

You have my sympathy. Your right these cars are meant to be beat, its what there built for.

 

I feel your pain. I got in a accident yesterday with mine and I was all excited for the shootout. Now im just staying home and not even bothering because I have to get it all fixed now. Its not a good evo month

 

That really sucks man. But it happens to everyone eventually. So build it better next time...

that sucks man sry to hear... you should still go! im going anyway my boy is picking me up in his evo to head down there... but i know what you mean... its not as fun to go to an event with 10,000 evos and yours is in the shop or home broken in pieces....

 

i knew it was a matter of time... fp black on stock block lol.. but its my DD so now im f*****... thank god my brother doesnt have his car at college so now i have an Audi to drive LOL... but i want to shed a tear everytime i go outside and see the car in the garage under the car cover... i feel like i just buried it ...

and unfortunately i dont have that kind of money to fix it right now so its gonna lay dead in the garage for A WHILE....

 

Man im sorry to hear that, you have my deepest regrets. Take what you can positive out of it, you get to start fresh and just come back with even more of a beast. Good luck to you on your future build

thanks guys i appreciate it... im just worried that i blew the trans out at the same time... because once i slammed 3rd its sounded like a loud CLUNK in the trans and the revs shot up like the clutch slipped, and my foot was still down on the gas, so it over revved and im guessing right now threw a rod... the trans also feels hard to shift between gears now, before it was a bit notchy but now it doesnt want to at all....

this is gonna cost an arm and a leg... and im currently unemployed

Dude last year when I was on my way down to my first evo/sti showdown some ******* decided to side swipe me about 5 miles from my house. I also didnt get to go :/

 

Feeling your sorrow, but I bought mine December of '09, it never made it to December of '10 at least you got to enjoy it for the summer, mine made it 'till April.... so for three months May, June, July I was in "denial" and no the the river in egypt either... I did not accept that I had a spun bearing... Its been torn appart now for three months, I sit and stair at cylinder 4 rod bearing and shake my head talking to it saying "I thought you were stronger than that!" "How could you fail me like this" "Why have you forsaken me!!! WHYYYYY!!!" then the devil start whispering in my ear, " Hey once you put this back together your TCase will fail... and your tranny will start grinding" so I say its all apart... OFF TO T.R.E for Stage THREE!!!! It never ends brother...

So my replacement long block sits here, my Exedy Twin HD sits at Exedy waiting for one of the replacements discs to come in from japan, so they can finish my rebuild, Monday heading over to TRE to drop off my tranny and tcase, so maybe I will be able to finish to enjoy the WINTER again....

FYI, Look at my Join Date: Dec 2009... LOL!
