Intercooler

Im just about to order a new intercooler and im just trying to decide if a 3.5 core would efficient enough or should I just go with the 3.8 Cbrd fmic or go with one of the 4'' fmic from Ets, Buschur, or Ams. The 3.5 fmic would also be coming from one of these three companies. I know there have been threads along these lines before but I can't find anything that is helping me.

Would be helpful to post bolt ons and what type of HP you are looking as well as how much boost you are going to run.

you really need to consider your mod path.

The misconception with intercoolers is "I am not running a big turbo so I dont need a big intercooler" which really isn't accurate.

For instance... a stock evo IX turbo is going to be blowing more heat at say 28psi than a GT35 so you still need adequate intercooling to cool that hot air charge.

Food for thought.

I agree with everyone, you have to think of what you goal will be with your car. Most owners get a core and then sell it to upgrade. My thing is if you get the one that you will need the 1st time there will be no need to change it again. Look in the Dyono section of what guys are using with the setup similar to the one you want. Most people don't really test the FMIC, ie do a dyno run before and after to see the gains.

I actually meant to post up my goals but I was just in a rush out the door. My goal right now is to reach float to 400 on the stock turbo but then upgrading to a bigger turbo soon after. I want to reach well over 500 at some point so I would like to get something I will only have to purchase once.
