I should've kept the wing...Hydroplaned?! on the highway

You lucked out! Stepping on the brake should've sent you in a spin. You should've let go of the gas, counter steered and waited for the car to get back in control.
Maybe it seemed like it was going to one side but it really wasn't? Maybe the car was under control all the time?

the wing was just a joke....the wing creates 50 pounds of downforce at 100mph according to motor trend who quoted mitsubishi. so no the wing wouldn't have made a difference
it just seems a little odd that going forward (no turning) it will go sideways. yes my speed was way too fast and dumb of me to say the least. I was driving for 2 hrs and I just wanted to be there already.

the car was under control and then it just went sideways. I think the slight slant in the highway with my speed caused it

Yeah man the solution to this is quite simple. Water+ speed='s hydro planing.
But the wing joke was funny.
Not trying to get on you but if you're gonna drive a car like this like that you need to learn how to really drive. I'm guessing if you don't know about hydroplaning, even at low speeds in water, you don't know much about driving. You're lucky you didn't wreck your car.
Second hint that you need to take some time to learn how to drive was that you hit the brake when turning.
Also lifting the throttle can also act like hitting the brake if done too aggressively. Check out what this guy did in what should of been a routine situation...

Do yourself a favor, not being hard on ya, at least read some articles on driving and watch some you tube videos.
Here's a good one to get you started....

I would say it's a combination of tires that don't naturally pump water that well and speed. At those speeds, anything could throw you off your path. You could've hit a low spot on the road where your car got light, could've hit a puddle, transition in pavement, could've been a gust of wind, anything.
On my old car, even with brand new el cheapo buy 3 get 1 free coopers, it would get sketchy in heavy rain at around 70. Last time I drove in heavy rain in the Ralliart, I had new yokohamas and it felt stable in rain heavy enough to warrant using the wipers on high speed at above those speeds.

Yeah I hear the tires. Some will handle it better than others but At 80-90 MPH and an unknown depth of water any tire could hydroplane.
If you don't know what you're driving through at 80-90 you are driving too fast too be safe.
Just want the kid to live. It's not the tires. It's driving to fast for the conditions.
Driving fast is great. But it's not a god given talent 100%. There are things you must learn and things you must pay attention to if you don't want to end up dead.
