Question autometer instrument cluster bezel

Greetings, new EVO owner from the WRX side of the pond looking to add some aftermarket gauges, namely boost, EGT and fuel press. I've searched and searched and found no mounting options that I like. My thoughts:

A Pillar gauges - Holy blind spot batman! That and not color matched and don't have cutouts for tweeter.

Steering column mounted - better, but still very much of an addition vs. an integration. That carbon fiber bubble that replaces the column cover doesn't do it for me either.

Dash Mounted - No dandy clock to remove like the WRX and put in a sweet Defi triple hood

DIN Mounted - I'm not sacrificing stereo, need it to wash out the creaking from my driver's door!

Windshield Suction cup mounted - Not bad, but I hate exposed wires and makes me think of airplane cockpits, not automobiles

Instrument Cluster Bezel - Autometer makes this for the WRX and I though one would be perfect for the EVO

Search as I may I couldn't find one, called autometer talked to sales, they said they make an A-pillar guage supposedly with tweeter cutout, black color only, left P/N at work but it's on backorder anyways. Apparently sales does not talk to R & D. After much babbling, my question is...anyone in the Sycamore, IL area willing to drop by and see if they can be a donor to get these bad boys made up???

Retail is normaly less than $70 and IMHO the install is much cleaner and more of a factory look than above mentioned options. Lemme know if I'm smoking crack or am just too **** and need to go with the current offerings.

Cheers

Cheers
congrats on your new car!!!

you don't need to ditch the stereo in order to install the gauges there. you can simply buy the relocation kit and move the stereo to the lower chubby hole. do a search under my user name and you will find some pics that i posted about my setup.

Thanks Blonde,
I saw your setup with the stereo in the storage cubby, clean install but I how does that affect your driving? Doesn't it make you take your eyes off the beaten path to monitor the gauges?

Funny cigarettes, maybe; crack - heck no! This is the first time I have seen the "bezel solution" and I like it! Much, much cleaner then others - IMO. If you can find somebody to make it, I'll be the first - well okay, second, - in line to get it. Please keep us posted and welcome aboard...

I plan on leaving my car pretty much stock.
I do want a boost gauge, but have not seen a setup i like so far. Something like this would definitely be of interest though.

Love it...would be first in line. I too am wrestling with the gauges problem...I simply want a very clean look and am disappointed by the current offerings.

Would anyone be interested in a boost gauge where the Lancer logo is in the cluster??

Would it sell?

I think I have an idea..
