Getting slower?

Hi guys,

I bought my Evo 9 about a month ago and I can't help but notice that it just lost that feeling of "Holy crap this car is fast!" to "Eh its ok quick." Is it possible to get used to the horsepower or should I be looking over my engine and hunting for possible problems? Sorry for the noobish question, but since this is one the quickest cars that I've owned I just had to ask . If you need info on the car just check out my garage.

first i would check for boost leaks and fix them and check the spark plugs. it is very possible to feel as though the car got slower over time but all you need to do is be the passenger in the car and you will probably think the car is faster than if you were driving it. ive never been a passenger in my car with it being driven hard until this past weekend and thought to myself that it was much faster than i realized

yes you get used the the horsepower that is why there are so many aftermarket parts to treat that itch. But if it feels significantly slow then check for problems.

your losing that feeling thats all. Its still the same car lol. I thought the same until i took one of my sisters friends for a ride... it felt like it was "slower than it used to be" for me, but she was screaming and said her legs went tingly so id guess its just getting used to the car! BTW the best cure, is to go bigger turbo

i think the best cure is to go back to stock for a little while and then go back to the same mods. it sure does save a whole lot of money that way and it feels really fast once again

Turn the boost down, drive it for awhile then crank her back up.

HAHA, I told you your car was fast. Maybe I just need to find somebody who will drive my car and I can take a ride as a passenger.

It's very easy to get use a to the power of it, especially when your behind the wheel. You can try not to get on it for a while, then rip the gears a little bit.

Before I did my build my car always felt slow with one exception. At 430 in the morning on the way to PT it felt scary fast...mostly because I was half asleep still and there was a nice chill in the ait.

^^^ that's pretty much what i do. I drive a civic through out the week and drive my evo on occasionally weekdays but mostly weekends.. and Every time i drive it im like damn this **** is fast.. and that's with a BBK full at the least..your probably just getting used to the car especially if you drive it everyday and WOT everyday.. But if its dramatically slower you my might have a problem some where..
