Engine rattle(IC pipe)?

Hi guys,

As some of you may know I recently installed an ETC FMIC with IC pipes. Well, since I've been looking for a boost leak I started noticing that the car was making another noise. Kind of a rattle at low RPMs. Everytime I disengage the clutch(when the car starts to shake a bit) or when I start the engine(the engine shakes) I hear a rattle which I think is the upper IC pipe hitting the radiator and/or the battery.

I opened the hood and I moved the UPIC left and right and noticed it moved and hit the radiator and battery without much effort. I was wondering if this is a common installation mistake or if anyone else have had this experience Should I remove the entire IC pipe and reinstall correctly?

Thanks in advance

I had the exact same issues as you and I moved the darn piping around so many times...Well finally I got it all fixed but occasionally it does rattle from time-to-time. I am thinking of buying a foam pad of some sort to put onto the piping. I feel as if we can never win the rattle battle in our evos....

Well, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. However, I just fixed it . I jacked up the car and went clamp by clamp to fix the boost leak and when I was finished the UICP was hittng only the radiator fan cover. Then I went for a test drive did some WOT runs and when I came back home anc checked under the hood, the pipe wasn't hitting anything . Guess it fell into place with the WOT runs
