ACD question
ACD question
I just bought my 2005 evo ssl earlier in the week. Car has just under 100k on it and its great
I have done a lot of reading on this problem and know there are many things that can cause it...but i noticed my problem is slightly different.
Problem:
All three lights are on (tarmac, gravel, and snow). there is NO abs light on (doesn't even come on when the key is in the ON pos). also, the abs doesn't work. I had the car scanned and it came up as all 4 wheel speed sensors, and a vehicle speed sensor. I checked to make sure the previous owner didn't unplug the speed sensors or anything like that.
what I've checked
-adjusted the tps
-checked fluid
-reset g-sensors
when i start the car i can choose which acd mode i want it in. Then i can drive it for a half mile or so before all three lights come on.
Will a bad vehicle speed sensor cause all this?
TIA, Eric

There are a lot of sensors that can trigger the ACD lights to go on. If you got your car scanned and the 4 wheel speed senors and vehicle speed sensor went on, go wiggle the sensors and see if the lights come on.
The 4 wheel speed sensors are often the ones to trigger the ACD lights.

also check 2 g-sensors located in the console where the handbrake is. I know it trigered my acd lights when I accidentally moved them a bit. Just unplug, re-plug and make sure they are tight, then see if it fixed it.
UPDATE
went to the dealer
codes are.....
front right wheel speed sensor
both rear wheel speed sensors
wheel/tire size off
vehicle speed sensor
pump tested good
abs module is good
this is a new car so i don't know what size rims the old owner had. I know the speedometer is way off. Would this cause all of my problems??
Also the dealer saw the last owner took out the abs light so now with a new bulb that light is on too
